First CPIE was created in France (Paris) as a trading company for the import and export of soft commodities between Europe and China. This is where the origin of the name CPIE is to be found (Compagnie Privée d’Import et d’Export). The CPIE company was already a member of Group TME Management, a London established holding company with participations in para-medical product development and real estate project realizations.

In the year 1998 the headquarter was moved from France to UK as to better take advantage of the international trading market of the City.

The initial objective of the company was to develop trading activities between the Middle East and other countries in the world, particularly in the field of exporting and marketing mineral and ore products.

In order to diversify its sources of supply,  CPIE decided to establish new business relations with other countries, in particular with Latin America countries. 

The company had good opportunities to develop a strong presence in various countries of South America and today, the products are mainly coming from three countries: Brazil, Venezuela and Chile.

The export of these products is organized almost exclusively toward Asia and in particular China where the company has its more important partners...
